With the german verdict from 12 May 1998 - 312 O 85/98 - "Haftung für Links" (liability for links) the German Landgericht (LG) Hamburg decided, that the publisher of a website is liable for the content of websites the publisher links to. According to the Landgericht the publisher of a website cannot be held liable if the publisher distances himself from the content of the linked websites.
